KEYNOTE SPEAKER INTRODUCTION:

State Representative Ron Reynolds

Ron Reynolds was sworn in on January 10, 2011 as State Representative House District 27. Ron is currently serving his fourth term in the Texas House. He is the first African American State Representative in Fort Bend County since Reconstruction. He was voted by his House colleagues as \"Freshman Legislator of the Year\" and \"Public Servant of the Year\" by the Houston Minority Contractors Association. He served as the House Minority Whip during the 83rd &amp; 84th Legislative sessions and currently is the 2nd Vice Chair of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus. Rep. Reynolds serves on the Environmental Regulation and Elections committees. He is the Ranking Member of the Environmental Regulations committee.

Rep. Reynolds attended Texas Southern University and received a B.S. degree in Public Affairs, \"magna cum laude\". Ron received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law. Ron received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from the Pendleton Chapel Seminary School.
Ron is a former Associate Municipal Judge for The City of Houston and Texas Southern University Adjunct Professor (College of Public Affairs).
Ron is a former President of the NAACP Missouri City &amp; Ft. Bend Vicinity Branch. He is former President of the Houston Lawyer\'s Association; 100 Black Men of America - Houston Chapter and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Ron has received numerous professional awards and recognitions for his community involvement including: EEOC Civil Rights All Star Award, American Red Cross Humanitarian Award, 2 time Houston Black Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award winner, Who\'s Who in Black Houston, Named Houston\'s Top Lawyer by H Texas Magazine, recipient of the Missouri City Juneteenth Community Service Award, YMCA Minority Achievers Award, MLK Drum Major For Justice Award, NAACP ALEX Award for Legal Excellence, named Houston\'s Top 40 Leaders Under 40 and DMARS Business Journal Top Lawyer &amp; Public Servant Award.

Ron believes that by investing in the community, he has made a positive impact on the business and economic base in Fort Bend County. Commensurate with the belief, to whom much is given, much is required; Ron has devoted his life to serving the community.

Rep. Reynolds is a devout Christian and a member of The Church Without Walls. He is proudly married to Dr. Jonita Reynolds and is a proud father of three wonderful children.
